Moustache Houze

A friend of mine bought me to a cute cafe  – Moustache Houze which located at Campbell Street. They just newly open on July 2013. A nice cafe to chill and friends gathering. =)

I’ve tried their Ice espresso cube milk, I over pour the milk so the coffee has diluted. If you order the same drink, maybe go slow on the milk, let the cube melt first. I guess it will be tasted better.

They have 4 rooms upstairs with different cute mustaches painting. I guess soon they will start their home stay business. Here their facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/MoustacheHouze

Chai Diam Ma and Shu Bookshop

I am so happy to know that Penang youngster are now very creative. Hubby shows me the Chai Diam Ma & Shu (they are under the same owners), I insisted to visit them. I so in love with the Shabby & Vintage chic and these two shops are very good on it.

Shu {It means book in Mandarin}  – which located at Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling{椰脚街}. A bookshop that selling local artist painting, handmade gifts & imported children story books. I have bought few books for my collection and it cost about RM 45 for 4 books. The lady who manage the shop was very friendly. She also allowed me to take some photos & read their books. I was reluctant to leave the shop because its really comfortable and pretty.

Chai Diam Ma {It means mini market in Hokkien} which located at Lebuh Queen{王后街}. The shop use lots retro wooden tables and chairs which we used during our schooling time. Also they are selling some interesting  gifts & bags created by local artists, this time I have to skip their coffee as I already had 3 cups. To avoid caffeine high, I think its better to come back next time although its so tempting. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Here are some photos to share with you. Enjoy!

{Dinner} Korean GochuJang seafood pasta

I decided to try something new today. Long time I didn’t cook pasta hence today I gave a try Korean style pasta.

Image

Chopped tomatoes, Korean bean sprouts and chopped red capsicum and mixed them
with one table spoon of GochuJang & and half cup of  Japanese Tsuyu (Japanese fish source)
then keep them in the fridge! (can prepare in the morning before leaving your house to work)

ImageI love this Garlic skin peeled rubber, my MIL bought from US. Its really fast!
ImageJust put the garlic inside the rubber, and roll it few times!Imagefew minutes – Garlics skin “hilang”!

Image
My favourite seafood – Squid! I bought from fresh market and clean them.

Image
Pasta for both of us! We usually on low-carb for dinner.

Image

Boiling water with bit Olive Oil & Sea Salt.

Image

Put in the pasta and make them al dente. Normally the packaging did mention the cooking time,
I normally don’t use timer, just my “instinct”!
After cooked the pasta, just rinse them with some cold water so as the pasta won’t stick together.
then put aside.
take out the Go chu Jang Vegetables & squid & garlic.
K, now hit the “wok” with some olive oil then Garlic, the put the Go chu Jang vegetables
stir them for a while,  and Squid in now, continue stirring till the Squid look fully white colour & solid.
Then, put in the noodles, add more Japanese Tsuyu, maybe 3 table spoons.
Continue stirring to mixed all together. OK dinner is ready!

Image

Woo.. its done! We still have some ham in the fridge so decided to finished it.
It was nice but quite spicy.

{Easy Lunch} Steamed minced pork with bitter gourd

I like simple lunch, sometimes I will go out to tar pao (sometimes too lazy to cook) or just stay home to cook something really simple. Today, I have some vegetables and minced pork in the fridge so maybe some steamed rice will be good. It’s a good try ! I love it and I have to make again for my beloved husband.

 Image

This silver old-style steamer was given by hubby’s grandma.
I like it lot as the size ngam-ngam for two of us

 Image

I use Japanese pearl rice coz the texture is better compare to normal white rice

Image

Oh I love this multipurpose source from Korea, its really All-purpose! =)

Image

Prepare minced pork, chopped bitter gourd, chopped pickled radish & chopped mushrooms,
mixed with the sauce together and keep in the fridge.

Image

After steaming for 10 minutes, the rice is half-cooked now.

Image

Ok then put the mixed vegetables & porks on to of the rice and continue steaming.

Image

OK! after 15 minutes steaming, its Done!! Sprinkle with some chili powder and Japanese seaweed.

Image

OH, Nice!!

My little Kitchen

My little kitchen’s require a basic equipments. Like a stove, an oven, necessary pans & pots , blender and etc. I love a kitchen with natural sunlight in the day and bright enough for the night. Yes, I got the perfect kitchen! =)

There are some ingredients I’ve been using for few years for my cooking. So far they have never disappointed “we” . =)

Enjoy and remember another important ingredient “love”!!
